UPDATE: Mildred Bommarito, Jordan Garchow Killed in Car Accident in Tittabawassee, Michican

TITTABAWASSEE TOWNSHIP, MI — Mildred Bommarito and Jordan Garchow was killed in a car accident in Tittabawassee Township, Michigan on Tuesday, December 9th, 2014. The report from Michigan Live said that the accident happened around 1:15 Tuesday afternoon.

Both 70-year-old Mildred Bommarito and 19-year-old Jordan Garchow died when the cars they were in collided on Midland Road. Right now, police think that one of the vehicles may have crossed over the median where it struck the other head-on, but have not clarified which vehicle it was.

Bommarito and Garchow died in the accident. Also injured in the accident was 17-year-old Brittany Coyle, and 20-year-old Kyle Starks, who were taken to the hospital after the crash.

The Michigan State Police are helping with the accident investigation at this time.

Commentary:

Once police do their best to determine which vehicle crossed the center line, is that the end-all-be-all carved-in-stone fact pattern of what happened? Absolutely not. If you have doubts about what the police find, there are options available. You can have your own investigation conducted to see if there is anything the police missed, and they often do. I’ve seen a great number of police reports refuted with a closer look. I can’t say for sure, but it is normal and healthy to be skeptical of initial reports.

I'm a former employee. I had brought up this exact scenario and suggested a maintenance procedure that would eliminate the possibility of this type injury. Obviously my warning went unheeded.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.

A lot of people say smack about lawyers, but I want to say that I'm glad there is a way that people who are wronged by corporate neglect can get justice and force change. We are living in a world where corporations and govt care less than ever about common people, and I support your work. I hope I will never need your services.

Thank you for posting these accident articles on your site. At the company that I work for, e deal with monitoring construction activity and work around trenches and all sorts of construction equipment/vehicles. I sometimes wonder if construction companies have enough safety training to inform employees of how to protect themselves while on the job.
