Mount Pleasant, TX — There was a small plane crash reported yesterday (Monday, December 8, 2014) that injured the pilot. Authorities said that Steve Capps, a local businessman, was slightly injured after his small single-engine Cessna 152 had an accident and crashed while landing.
This happened on Monday evening, around 5:00 p.m. Capps was flying his small white plane yesterday afternoon when something went wrong mid-flight and his plane suffered some damage.
As he tried to bring it back to the Mount Pleasant Regional Airport area, the plane lost control during the landing phase and crashed. Though Capps was only slightly injured, his plane was totaled.
Authorities later speculated that perhaps some landing gear failed or something went wrong with the steering mechanism in the plane itself.
