Bennington Township, OH — A man was hospitalized after his vehicle was hit by a dump truck in Bennington Township, Ohio, on Wednesday, November 12, 2014. The accident happened at the intersection of US 62 and Louden Street Road, around 4:45 in the afternoon.
Austin Fitzgerald was driving a dump truck east and attempted to make a left hand turn. He turned in front of a Chevy Monte Carlo being driven by Gerald Zirkler and the two collided.
Emergency workers had to extricate Zirkler from his vehicle before taking him to Wexner Medical Center. Reports have said that his injuries did not appear to be serious.
Reports didn’t say if Fitzgerald sustained any injuries in the accident, although he was not taken to a hospital.
Police say that they’re investigating the crash, and that it’s likely Fitzgerald will be charged with failure to yield.
