Cabool, MO — There was a serious accident with a semi-truck earlier this month that claimed two lives. Alex Greuter, 15, and Patricia Wiest, 37, were killed a few miles north of Cabool after their vehicle was in an accident along Highway 63.
It happened on Sunday, November 16, 2014, in the late evening hours. Police said that they didn’t understand exactly what happened, but confirmed that both Greuter and Wiest were in a car that lost control along an ice-covered section on Highway 63.
This was about 5 miles north of Cabool, near Dees Road. Their car spun out into oncoming traffic, where it was hit by a passing U-Haul box truck. The collision killed both Patricia Wiest and Alex Greuter while critically injuring the driver of their car — who wasn’t identified.
The cause of the accident was believed to be weather-related, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. More investigation is expected, though.
