Commentary:
With any kind of alcohol related accident that happens late on the weekend, I always get the nagging feeling in my gut that the driver may have come from a bar. Some of you may wonder what this has to do with the accident. Well, in the State of Texas, when somebody decides to open their own bar, to get a liquor license, they promise the state that they will serve alcohol as the state dictates. Do you know what the state forbids in this promise made in exchange for the license? Over-service. Any bar that serves somebody to the point of intoxication, or serves an already-intoxicated person, and that customer causes an accident that hurts themselves, or another, the bar can be held liable for the accident.
