Commentary:
A situation like this is hard to look at because the person who may be at fault in the accident was doing something helpful or generous when they hurt somebody. Taken from a legal perspective, all generosity aside, the truck driver needed to make sure the victim was clear of the truck when he put his foot on the gas. If this person was a tollbooth attendant, police officer, or somebody giving directions, the same logic would apply.
