Amarillo, TX — Last Friday morning, a tractor-trailer lost control on I-27 and overturned, causing a major accident that left several people injured. Police said that it happened at about 8 a.m. Friday morning (October 31, 2014) near Georgia Street.
The details are still being investigated, but it appears that a tractor-trailer hauling some manure lost control for some reason and swerved off I-27 northbound into the median.
There, the truck overturned in the oncoming lanes of traffic, causing an accident with another semi-truck, a cement mixer, and a minivan. Several people were injured in this pileup, though none of them were deemed to be life-threatening injuries.
More details will hopefully come later, as police learn more about what caused the first tractor-trailer to lose control in the first place.
