AMES, IA — One person was taken to the hospital after an accident between a flatbed tow-truck and a DOT dump truck that happened in Ames, Iowa on Friday, October 31st, 2014. The news report from WHO-TV said that the accident happened around 9:30 Friday morning.
One person was hurt when the flatbed tow-truck they were driving struck a dump truck on Highway 30. The tow-truck is believed to have struck the trailer being towed by a Department of Transportation dump truck on the shoulder of the highway.
The driver of the tow truck had to be cut from the vehicle and was taken to Mary Greely Medical Center where he was last reported with serious injuries.
No other injuries were detailed in the news.
The Iowa State Patrol is helping local officials with the accident investigation.
