Richmond, IN — Last night, Comcast reported that one of their workers was injured in the Richmond area (near the Ohio-Indiana border) was injured after an accident on the job. The worker’s name hasn’t been released, but the accident reportedly involved a utility pole snapping.
Again, the details aren’t very clear right now, but the accident happened at about 6:30 p.m. yesterday evening – Wednesday, October 15, 2014. The worker was performing a job along West Eaton Pike and was atop a ladder, leaned against a utility pole.
As the Comcast worker was working, something happened and the utility actually snapped, causing the worker to fall off his ladder. Later, it was reported that the Comcast worker may have been shocked by some electric wires as well, but that hasn’t been confirmed.
The worker was taken to a hospital, then airlifted to a second hospital specifically for trauma. Police said they don’t have any more information right now about the accident.
