Commentary:
The specific details about this accident are virtually nonexistent, but considering that three out of the four vehicles involved in the accident are tractor-trailers, there is a high probability that one of the trucks caused the accident. Because chain-reaction accidents are such chaotic events with lots of finger-pointing, if one of these trucks is found to be responsible for the accident, you can bet that the company behind the truck is going to take advantage of the confusion. This is where an independent investigation can really shift the tides. Conducting your own inquiry could reveal details that police overlook at the scene of the accident. Bear in mind that police are busy tending to victims, clearing the road, directing traffic, and recording details as to how they see them. Needless to say there are a lot of details that get lost in the fray. All it would take to clear up the facts is a close look by a trained eye.
