Bremond, Texas — There was an early-morning accident today (Wednesday, October 8, 2014) that killed a woman from Marlin. Police identified the victim as Sheila Runnels, 45, and said that the accident happened at about 6:30 a.m. this morning.
Runnels was driving her car along FM 46, just west of Bremond, when she lost control near Highway 6. Her car swerved off the roadway, police said, and overturned at least once, hitting a utility pole in the process.
Paramedics were called to the crash site, but declared Runnels dead at the scene. So far, it’s not clear why Runnels lost control of her car that morning.
As far as the news reports are saying, it doesn’t look like any other vehicles were involved and Runnels was alone in her car at the time. She was from Marlin, which is several miles north of this crash site.
