Commentary:

The victim in this accident was a passenger, and judging from the fact pattern I see in the news, there is probably going to be a lot of questions surrounding this accident. My questions center around why the driver of the car she was in stopped in the lanes of traffic. Why did they stop? Were they turning? Was this a legal maneuver? I can’t say for sure, but if they did not stop legally, there could be a negligence allegation against the driver. I’d obviously need to see more before I could say anything concrete, but something about this fact pattern just doesn’t add up.

I'm a former employee. I had brought up this exact scenario and suggested a maintenance procedure that would eliminate the possibility of this type injury. Obviously my warning went unheeded.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.

A lot of people say smack about lawyers, but I want to say that I'm glad there is a way that people who are wronged by corporate neglect can get justice and force change. We are living in a world where corporations and govt care less than ever about common people, and I support your work. I hope I will never need your services.

Thank you for posting these accident articles on your site. At the company that I work for, e deal with monitoring construction activity and work around trenches and all sorts of construction equipment/vehicles. I sometimes wonder if construction companies have enough safety training to inform employees of how to protect themselves while on the job.

  1. Firsr of all she was only 17 staying in a motel with the 25 year old driver. I’m her close friend and I’m very close to her grandma, so we are her only family in Texas. She was from Georia and only been with that guy for three months . Her grandma and i will also want to know if he did everything legally including checking their systems for drugs. Me being a driver, I don’t understand the situation either. His mother won’t give any information.
