Amarillo, TX — A woman was injured last night and a man faces DWI charges after a rollover accident on the north side of Amarillo. Police said that a pickup truck lost control on Loop 335/Francis Ave last night (Thursday, October 2, 2014) and overturned, injuring a woman inside.
This happened around 7:15 p.m., where Loop 335 passes over Eastern Street. A GMC Sierra pickup truck was headed east along Loop 335 that evening when the driver (a 59-year old man) came upon another car.
Police say a Ford Focus was stopped in front of the pickup truck, trying to make a left turn in a neighborhood. The GMC pickup truck tried to swerve and pass the Ford, but clipped it in the process and lost control.
The pickup truck then ran off the side of the roadway and overturned multiple times.
A woman inside the truck was taken to a hospital with injuries and the man driving the truck was last said to be facing potential DWI charges.
