EDINGBURG, TX — Both Maria Valdez and Amelia Castillo were killed in a tractor-trailer collision that was reported in Edinburg, Texas on Tuesday, September 30th, 2014. The article from KRGV said the accident happened overnight Tuesday.
81-year-old Maria Valdez, and a 77-year-old Amelia Castillo were killed when the car they were in and a tractor-trailer collided on Interstate 69C. Police believe the Chevy Equinox they were in crossed from the southbound to the northbound lanes where it hit the tractor-trailer head-on.
The passenger in the car died at the scene, while the driver was flown by helicopter to McAllen Medical Center where she died later.
