Columbia, MO — There was an accident near Columbia, Missouri, that left a man dead on Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Police have said that the man’s name is Lance Bingaman. He died on U.S. 40, around 4:15 in the afternoon.
Bingaman had been traveling along Henderson Road and was making a left hand turn onto U.S. 40 when he was hit by a utility truck. The collision pushed his vehicle into a ditch off the side of the road.
Officials pronounced Bingaman dead at the scene. Nicholas McCune, the driver of the utility truck, was not injured.
Officials say that Bingaman was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident.
