Commentary
Whether they’re in the wrong or not, many people are predisposed to side against motorcyclists right from the get go. When you think of a motorcyclist, what are some of the first images that pop into your head? Either it’s the young punk who does nothing but speed down the highway and cut people off, or it’s the ‘roided out Hells Angel, who make you feel like you need to lock your doors every time they drive by. I’m exaggerating of course, but I think you get my point. But, there are plenty of examples of accidents where a motorcyclist is either injured or killed, through absolutely no fault of their own. For example, you may have heard that Harley-Davidson has recently had to recall many of its bikes because of defects in their braking systems. The bikes involved in this accident were also Harley-Davidsons. I don’t know if there were also problems with their brake systems, but I think that it’s a possibility that’s at least worth looking into.
