Creston, IA — A 15-year old boy was killed when he crashed into a semi-truck in Creston, Iowa, on Thursday, September 11, 2014. Police say that Silva failed to stop at a stop sign and hit the truck as he drove out into the intersection.
The accident took place at 200th street and Vanilla Avenue, around 7:45 in the morning. Authorities pronounced Silva dead at the scene. There was no one else with him inside his vehicle.
The driver of the semi-truck, John Paxson, was treated by medics at the scene and released. It’s not clear what caused Silva to run the stop sign.
