San Antonio, TX — A two-vehicle accident in San Antonio, Texas, sent one person to the hospital on Friday, August 29, 2014. The accident took place on Old Highway 90, around 10:15 at night.
Police report that a Ford Escort was driving along Highway 90 when a Honda Civic turned into its path. The Escort, unable to avoid the accident, smashed into the side of the Civic. The driver of the Civic got out of his vehicle and fled the scene, leaving his passenger behind.
Reports say that although the driver of the Escort was not responsible for causing the accident, police arrested him for allegedly driving while intoxicated. Emergency workers transported him to Santa Rose Westover Hills before he was transferred to San Antonio Military Medical Center.
The passenger who was left behind suffered critical injuries and was taken to University Hospital. Once the driver of the Civic is found, he will be charged for failure to stop and render aid.
