Pleasant Grove, TX — Police have charged the driver of the car responsible for killing Jerry Johnson in the Pleasant Grove area of Dallas, Texas, with manslaughter. Avery Gardner was racing with another vehicle near the intersection of Elam Road and South Buckner Blvd. Gardner hit and killed 54-year old Jerry Johnson.
Gardner was reportedly traveling 50-60 mph in a 35 mph zone. Police have said that alcohol did not play a role in the accident.
Gardner was also charged with causing an accident involving death.
He’s being held in the Dallas County jail for a $200,000 bail.
