West Valley City, UT — One person was killed and several others were injured in an accident involving three vehicles, including a passenger bus, in West Valley City, Utah, on Wednesday, September 3, 2014. The accident took place at the intersection of 4100 South and 2200 West, around 7:15 in the evening.
The exact cause of the crash is still being investigated. However, police say that a car traveling north on 2200 West crashed into another traveling west on 4100 south. The collision sent both cars spinning into a bus belonging to the Utah Transit Authority.
The driver and passenger of one car were both taken to a local hospital. The five occupants of the second vehicle reported only minor injuries, while no one of the UTA bus was injured.
The passenger of the first vehicle, identified as Davey Burton, passed away shortly after being taken to the hospital.
The names of the other individuals involved were not released. The intersection was closed to several hours while police investigated the scene.
