Randolph, MA — Eighteen people were injured when a man accused of driving while under the influence of an illegal substance crashed into a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority bus in Randolph, Massachusetts, on Tuesday, August 12, 2014. The accident took place on North Main Street, around 10:45 in the morning.
The driver of the car, identified as Stephen Griswold, crossed into the northbound lane of the street and collided with the bus. Eight ambulances were called in to assist with the accident. Of the 18 people injured, including the bus driver, 13 of those were taken to local hospitals.
Griswold was arrested on the scene and taken to Milton Hospital for injuries that being described as non-life-threatening. There’s been no update on his current condition, or what he was allegedly under the influence of when the accident occurred. The accident is still being investigated.
