Houston, TX — An officer with the Houston Police Department was hospitalized after an accident with an 18-wheeler on the Interstate 45 service road in Houston, Texas, on Monday, August 4, 2014. The accident took place around 7:30 in the evening.
The officer and the truck collided at the intersection of the 45 service road and Cavalcade Street. Reports indicate that the officer was able to remove himself from the car before it caught fire, but was still taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was uninjured. His name was not released.
