New York, NY — A cyclist suffered serious injuries after being hit by a bus near the Hudson River Greenway in Hell’s Kitchen on Thursday, July 24, 2014. The accident took place at 40th Street, around 9:45 in the morning.
The name of the cyclist hasn’t been made public. Reports say that the man was hit by the bus and dragged under its front wheel. Emergency workers transported him to Bellevue Hospital.
There’s been no update on the man’s current condition. Authorities are still investigating the accident.

There are still a lot of questions about this accident that need to be answered before any sort of way forward can be determined. If this turns out to be the fault of the bus driver, I’m afraid the victim is going to have a bumpy road to recovery. Trying to recover any sort of damages from a municipal entity is very difficult. Which is understandable, but frustrating in cases where the municipal entity is the one at fault. Now, keep in mind that recovering those damages isn’t impossible, just difficult.
