UPDATE: Jesus Garcia Killed in Car Accident on 60 Freeway in Industry, California

INDUSTRY, CA — A single-vehicle accident claimed the lives of three individuals in Industry, California on Sunday, July 13th, 2014, according to a news report from The San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

Authorities think that Jesus Garcia was killed when the vehicle he was in crashed and flipped into a construction zone for reasons currently under investigation while driving on the 60 Freeway around 6:45 Sunday morning.

Scene of the Accident

Jesus Garcia was pronounced dead on the scene, along with Alberto Cazarez and Yesenia Gomez.

At this point, it is not clear what may have caused the accident, but California Highway Patrol officials are currently handling the accident investigation, and hope to release their findings at a later date.

Commentary:

In this car accident, there is always a possibility that the driver caused the accident through error or inattention, but there is also a possibility that the accident was caused by a defective design vehicle, or a tire blowout. If this turns out to be the situation, nobody is going to know by simply looking at the outside of the vehicle at the scene. Trained investigators need to comb through the evidence to see what may have caused this crash.

I'm a former employee. I had brought up this exact scenario and suggested a maintenance procedure that would eliminate the possibility of this type injury. Obviously my warning went unheeded.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.

A lot of people say smack about lawyers, but I want to say that I'm glad there is a way that people who are wronged by corporate neglect can get justice and force change. We are living in a world where corporations and govt care less than ever about common people, and I support your work. I hope I will never need your services.

Thank you for posting these accident articles on your site. At the company that I work for, e deal with monitoring construction activity and work around trenches and all sorts of construction equipment/vehicles. I sometimes wonder if construction companies have enough safety training to inform employees of how to protect themselves while on the job.
