San Antonio, TX — Three people were injured in an accident that police believe may have been caused by alcohol. The accident occurred in San Antonio, Texas, near the intersection of Westover Hills Blvd. and Hunt Lane, on Monday, July 14, 2014.
Officials report that the driver of the vehicle was driving along Hunt Lane when lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle rolled several times, ejecting the driver. She suffered major injuries, including broken legs. The two passengers in the vehicle were also injured.
All three occupants were taken to University Hospital. Police believe alcohol and speed contributed to the accident.
The name of those involved have not been released.
The accident is still under investigation.

Whenever an accident occurs, many think only of the injuries suffered by the driver, or the damage/injuries incurred by the other vehicle. They often forget about any passengers inside the vehicle that caused the accident. Those passengers have rights as well, and one of those rights is to a safe driving environment maintained by those they’re driving with. In this case, if the driver is found to have been drunk, she would have failed to do that for her passengers, and could be found liable for the accident.
