Hughes Springs, TX — Police say that the driver who crashed into the front of an Italian restaurant in Hughes Spring, Texas, on Sunday, July 6, 2014, may have been intoxicated at the time.
According to reports, the driver was swerving along Highway 11 in a 1997 Mercury when he hit a slight dip in the shoulder of the road before hitting a concrete sidewalk that sent the car into the air and through the restaurant’s front entrance. The driver has been identified as Corey Holloman. He was not seriously injured.
Police there may have been another individual involved in the accident, but they had left the scene by the time police arrived.
No other injuries were reported in the accident. Police took a blood sample from Holloman and are currently awaiting the results.
