ORANGE, TX — One driver is dead and a passenger is in the hospital following a two-car crash that was reported in Orange, Texas on Sunday, June 29th, 2014, according to the release from the Beaumont Enterprise.
Authorities believe Richard Shelvin was killed when the vehicle he was driving was struck head-on by a pickup truck that is believed to have crossed over into the lanes of oncoming traffic for reasons currently under investigation while driving on Highway 62.

Richard Shelvin was taken by EMS personnel to Christus St Elizabeth Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later. A passenger in Shelvin’s car was also taken to a nearby hospital, along with the wrong way driver.
The Texas Department of Transportation is currently handling the crash investigation, and hop to release more information in the coming days.
