JEFFERSON COUNTY, MT — A single-vehicle accident left a driver dead and a passenger injured in Jefferson County, Montana on Thursday, June 26th, 2014, according to the news article from ABC Fox Montana.
Police believe a 20-year-old man was killed when the Pontiac Grand Am he was driving drifted off the road and crashed while driving on Interstate 15 on Thursday morning.
Scene of the Accident
The driver of the vehicle was killed in the crash, while an unidentified 15-year-old passenger was taken to St James Hospital with unspecified injuries from the accident.
Investigators are trying to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Commentary:
If alcohol winds up being a factor in this accident, and the driver had recently come from a bar, the bar could in some part be liable for the accident. How so? Well, liquor liability regulations enable the people to take bars to task for over-serving drunk drivers in civil claims court while the state holds the driver responsible.
