Lost Hills, CA — An accident with an 18-wheeler left a man seriously injured on Wednesday, June 25, 2014. The victim in the accident has been identified as David Blanchet.
Blanchet is the Vice President of Paramount Farms. He was injured when an 18-wheeler hauling fuel ran a red light and crashed into his vehicle. The driver of the 18-wheeler has been identified as Jose Martinez.
Both Blanchet and Martinez were taken to Kern Medical Center.

Reports say that it was the truck driver who ran a red light, which caused the accident. If that’s the case, then the trucking company is going to be held liable for the accident. It’s as simple as that. I wish I could say that accidents like this didn’t happen very often, but the truth is I see them all the time. When a driver runs a red lights, it for one of two reasons, they weren’t paying attention and didn’t see that it was red, or they were trying to beat it. I don’t think I’m exagerating when I say that this is pretty basic stuff. Watch the road ahead of you. Slow down at yellow lights. If the driver of the truck isn’t getting that right, what else is he getting wrong?
