Terrell, TX — A man was killed in a one-vehicle accident that took place in the 1700 block of Highway 34, in Terrell, Texas, on Saturday, June 21, 2014.
Police have identified Darrell Mellody as the victim of the accident. Mellody was traveling along Highway 34 when he crossed into oncoming traffic before crashing into the entrance of a Super 8 and a utility pole.
Mellody went on to drive through a field before finally coming to a stop. Officials said that the driver was unresponsive and showed no signs of life when found. He was taken to a local hospital, and officials say his condition did not change.
The accident is still being investigated. However, police have said that alcohol and drugs do not appear to have played a role.
