Commentary:
You may think that tire blowouts are caused by overfilling, or debris in the road, and sure, some can be, but you’d be surprised to learn another reason. These tires are actually two pieces glued together, the tread, and the sidewall. This is why your tires can be retreaded in some cases whenever you go to a tire shop. However, this point where the two are affixed is where the majority of blowouts can occur. If a defective tire caused this accident, the manufacturer could be in some part liable, but nobody will know for sure until the evidence is combed through.
