MUFREESBORO, TN – A single-vehicle tanker truck rollover crash sent two volunteer firefighters to the hospital in Mufreesboro, Tennessee on Friday, June 20th, 2014, according to the news article released by DNJ.
Police think that 24-year-old Brenton Trying was hurt when the water tanker-truck he was driving drifted off the road and rolled a number of times while on the way to a house fire as they drove on Kittrell Halls Hill Road.

Brenton Trying was taken by EMS to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital for treatment of his injuries. A passenger in the tanker truck was identified as Brandon Merlo, who was rushed by helicopter to a hospital for unspecified injuries.
The Tennessee State Police is assisting local authorities with the crash investigation.
Commentary:
This accident could depend on a few factors. If the firefighters were on duty on the way to a call, this accident could fall under sovereign immunity, which essentially exempts government agencies from suit for damages caused in the line of duty, amongst other things. On the other hand, if there was some kind of malfunction or mechanical error in the truck then there could be some liability with the manufacturer, but nobody could say for sure until the wreckage is inspected.
