Commentary
In situations like these, where the FAA and NTSB have gotten involved, a private investigation is an option always worth considering. FAA and NTSB investigations can sometimes last months. If you’re a victim of an accident like this, or one of the victim’s family, months aren’t going to be good enough for you. Especially considering the fact that it’s possible the accident was brought on through an act of negligence, and time is of the essence.
In my time as an attorney, I’ve conducted several private investigations, and have always been able to get the answers my clients need, and in a reasonable amount of time. The bottom line is, whenever time is a factor, it’s just a very prudent decision.
