UPDATE: Kenneth Barki Killed in Car Accident in Bozrah, Connecticut

BOZRAH, CT — A single-vehicle crash ended the lives of three men in Bozrah, Connecticut on Thursday, June 19th, 2014, according to a news article released News 8 WTNH.

Representatives from local and police believe Kenneth Barki was killed when the car he was in left the road and struck a number of trees while driving on The Salem Turnpike around 1:00 Thursday morning.

Scene of the Accident

Kenneth Barki was killed when he was ejected from the car in the crash. Also killed was 19-year-old Terence Garland, and 22-year old Jesse Robinson.

The investigation into the accident is currently ongoing, and police hope any eyewitnesses that have not yet come forward will do so to help police better understand what may have happened.

Commentary:

Judging from the news article, we don’t really have many facts to work off of, but judging by the age of the victims, the time of night the accident happened, even though it was never mentioned in the article, I’d be curious to see if alcohol was a factor in the crash. What significance does this hold? Well, if these victims came from a bar where the bar declined to deny them service despite symptoms of obvious intoxication, the bar could be held liable for the accident if they failed in their duty to serve and sell alcohol in a responsible fashion.

I'm a former employee. I had brought up this exact scenario and suggested a maintenance procedure that would eliminate the possibility of this type injury. Obviously my warning went unheeded.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.

A lot of people say smack about lawyers, but I want to say that I'm glad there is a way that people who are wronged by corporate neglect can get justice and force change. We are living in a world where corporations and govt care less than ever about common people, and I support your work. I hope I will never need your services.

Thank you for posting these accident articles on your site. At the company that I work for, e deal with monitoring construction activity and work around trenches and all sorts of construction equipment/vehicles. I sometimes wonder if construction companies have enough safety training to inform employees of how to protect themselves while on the job.
