HOUSTON, TX — One infant child was killed in a crash in Houston, Texas on Friday, June 13th, 2014, according to a news report from KTRE.
Police with information from the investigation say an as-of-yet unidnetified infant child was killed when the Ford Escape they were in was struck by a Chevy Tahoe for reasons currently under investigation while driving on the Interstate 45 service road on Friday night.

The infant was taken by EMS personnel to a nearby hospital where they died a short while later. No other injuries were detailed in the news report.
Houston Police are currently handling the crash investigation, and hope any eyewitnesses that have not yet come forward will do so in an effort to aid investigators in better understanding the nature of the accident.
Commentary:
There are two types of hit-and-run drivers in my experience researching and interviewing the drivers. Either we have a driver who has never been in any kind of real trouble to speak of, and are suddenly thrust within one of the most serious situations of their lives, and they buckle. For lack of a better term, they snap under the pressure and drive off. These people, however, generally return after a phone call to authorities, or a loved one who talks some sense into them.
