Scene of the Accident

Commentary:
You may not know this, but the emergency lane on the side of the highway is for just that. Emergencies. If the trucker had pulled over for any kind of non-emergency reason such as finishing a meal, using the bathroom, grabbing some quick shut eye, or even making a quick phone call, the trucking company could be liable for the accident, but it really depends on how the facts congeal in the investigation, either way, very much worth a closer inspection.
