LOVING COUNTY, TX — A tanker truck crash left two people dead in Loving County, Texas on Sunday, June 15th, 2014, according to a news article from CBS 7.
Investigators from the Texas Department of Transportation have said that they have reason to believe that 37-year-old Jermaine Rollins was killed when the pickup truck they were in crashed into a tanker truck that had pulled over on the side of Highway 103.
Scene of the Accident

Commentary:
The news article suggests that the tanker truck had pulled to the side of the road when the accident happened. If this turns out to be true, I’d be interested to find out why. If the truck had pulled over for a legitimate mechanical reason, that is one thing, but if the trucker had pulled over to catch a quick nap, eat his dinner, or to relieve himself, the trucking company could be on the hook for the accident. Additionally, I’d be interested in looking at the placement of the truck in particular. If the truck’s back end was protruding into traffic without any kind of warning signage, the trucking company could also be facing hard questions because of this.
