Ocean Township, NJ — A woman passed away late Wednesday morning in northern Ocean Township after she was hit by a semi-truck earlier that day. Police said that Caroline Ferrin, 55, died after she was it by a semi-truck on Route 35 as she was crossing the street on foot.
The police and news reports aren’t releasing a lot of information, but it doesn’t look like the truck driver will be charged. Ferrin was apparently crossing at the interaction of Route 35 & Park Avenue when truck driver Michael Spearman, 40, crashed into her.
She was taken to a hospital, but later passed away at about 11:35 a.m. The accident happened at about 7:45 a.m. that morning. More investigation on behalf of the Ocean Township Police Department is expected.
