DALLAS, TX — Two people were rushed to the hospital in Dallas, Texas on Sunday, June 9th, 2014, according to a news report from The Dallas Morning News.
Investigators have said that they have reason to believe two people were rushed to the hospital after the Mercury Grand Marquis they were in crashed into a utility pole while driving on Scyene Road around 3:00 in the morning on Sunday.
Scene of the Accident
Two people were taken to a nearby hospital where an update on their condition was immediately unavailable.
The driver of the offending vehicle was identified as Anthony Paredes, who currently faces charges of intoxication assault.
The investigation into the accident is being handled by officials from the Dallas Police Department.
Commentary:
The news report indicates that both drugs and alcohol could be a factor in this accident, which could make things a little difficult from an alcohol-related claim. Instead, the driver has more than likely violated the contract with the passenger that promises that they will drive in a way that will not harm them in any way, if this driver was in fact under the influence, they would probably bear the brunt of the accident.
