WASHINGTON COUNTY, NY — Three people have died following a major crash in Washington County, Virginia on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2014, according to a report from The Roanoke Times.
Authorities tasked with leading the investigation have said that they have reason to believe Abenezer Thewdros was killed when the vehicle he was driving collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer while driving on Interstate 81 just before 6:30 Tuesday evening.

Abenezer Thewdros was killed in the crash, along with Abel Ayele, and Alemu Ameha. It is not clear at this time what may have caused the accident.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was immediately unhurt.
The investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
Commentary:
The news article indicates that the tractor-trailer had stopped to repair a blown tire when the accident happened, and there are a few questions about this that need a little clarification. Firstly, did the truck pull off the road completely? If the truck was blocking part of the lanes of traffic, the trucking company could be liable for some of the accident, additionally, if the truck had no reflectors or warning signage active at the time of the accident, there could be some liability there. Either way, this is the type of accident that commands a closer inspection.
