One Injured in Motorcycle Accident on Stan Schlueter Loop in Killeen, Texas

KILLEEN, TX — One man was hurt in a motorcycle crash that happened in Killeen, Texas on Monday, June 2nd, 2014, according to a report from KWTX.

Representatives tasked with leading the crash investigation say one person was hurt when the motorcycle they were driving crashed while driving on the Stan Schlueter Loop around 8:00 Monday morning.

Scene of the Accident

The driver of the motorcycle was taken by EMS personnel to a nearby hospital where an update on their condition was immediately unavailable after the accident.

It is believed that the motorcycle was struck by a vehicle.

Commentary:

I’d be interested in seeing where exactly the accident took place, because the road can tell us quite a bit about what may have happened. Details such as traffic at the time, road conditions, and lighting all play major roles in crashes like these, and building this body of evidence is only half the battle. Once the evidence has been amassed, if no judgment can be reached, then Texas uses a system of modified comparative fault, where a judge or jury is given the evidence, and they do their best to make sure the fault is handed down fairly and responsibly. This is why independent investigators can shift the balance, because they can find evidence that may have been overlooked, and sway the judgment altogether.

I'm a former employee. I had brought up this exact scenario and suggested a maintenance procedure that would eliminate the possibility of this type injury. Obviously my warning went unheeded.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.

A lot of people say smack about lawyers, but I want to say that I'm glad there is a way that people who are wronged by corporate neglect can get justice and force change. We are living in a world where corporations and govt care less than ever about common people, and I support your work. I hope I will never need your services.

Thank you for posting these accident articles on your site. At the company that I work for, e deal with monitoring construction activity and work around trenches and all sorts of construction equipment/vehicles. I sometimes wonder if construction companies have enough safety training to inform employees of how to protect themselves while on the job.

  1. I am the motorcyclist that was involved in this accident. I was in the outside turn or straight lane with my blinker on. The vehicle that struck me was in the turn only lane. She decide not to turn. She was ticketed for the accident and also for not having a license and no insurance. My insurance company has covered everything to include totaling my bike. The lady that hit me has been avoiding the insurance company.
