San Antonio, TX — Alcohol is suspected in an accident that left a woman in San Antonio, Texas, dead last weekend. The accident took place in the 300 block of East Basse Road.
A Dodge Dakota being driven by Manuel Ortalejo was seen speeding through an intersection. Ortalejo swerved in an attempt to avoid a collision with another vehicle when he lost control of his truck and collided with two trees.
His passenger, Elizabeth Villasana, was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center, where she passed away.
Alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor to the accident. Ortalejo was brought up on drunk driving charges.

A driver has a responsibility to create a safe environment for those they’re transporting in their vehicle. If the driver in this case was drinking, and then got behind the wheel of a car, then they obviously failed to live up to that obligation. In these cases, the victim or the victim’s family has the right to try and recover damages.
