Commentary:
I’d be weary of any news article that is written off of an initial crash summary written by police or state troopers. These officers are focused on rescue operations, tending to victims, clearing the roadway of the crash, directing traffic, all while trying to jot down the details of the accident as they see them. Needless to say, many details are confused or altogether lost in the chaos after an accident. This is why independent investigation is both prudent, and beneficial, because it can help investigators and victims alike reach the truth of what happened in an accident instead of taking a police report at face value.
