Commentary:
You may be unaware of your rights as a passenger, but should you ever find yourself in an accident like this, it could be very helpful information. The news article suggests that speed on rainy concrete may have played a role in this crash, which if true, could have serious implications for the victims. Any time you enter a vehicle and you are not the driver, you have entered a contract with the driver that ensures they will drive in a manner that will not hurt you or anyone else. If they were speeding on wet roads, they may have violated the contract, and could be held liable for the accident depending on how the facts fall into place.
