Commentary:
While it is was mentioned nowhere in the article, I’d be very curious to know if this driver came from an alcohol serving establishment. What makes me wonder this? Anytime I see a single-vehicle rollover accident happen on the weekend after midnight, I cannot help but feel that alcohol is at least a remote possibility. If investigators find that alcohol played a role in the accident, the bar, tavern, liquor store, or nightclub he was coming from could be held accountable for the accident. How? Many states have liquor liability laws, or dram shop laws that make sure alcohol is sold in a safe manner, meaning bars are forbidden from both selling alcohol to somebody who is clearly under the influence, as well as serving a sober person to the point of obvious intoxication. If this driver was over-served, the bar responsible needs to be taken to task.
