Commentary:
Judging from the news article, the motorcycle looks like he would bear the brunt of the fault in this accident, but I know better than to think these types of news articles are subjective. On the contrary, these articles are written based off local police reports and press releases. These reports are written by police officers, and not accident investigation professionals like one would assume they are. What is the difference? A police officer at the scene of the accident is responsible for much more than just writing a report. They are worrying about clearing the road, directing traffic, tending to the victims, as well as doing their best to write down their best guess as to what happened. Needless to say details can get fuzzy, which is why I always recommend a second look at these crashes.
