AUSTIN, TX — A pedestrian accident sent two teenagers to the hospital in Austin, Texas on Wednesday, May 14th, 2014, according to a news report from KXAN.
Police have said that they have reason to believe two people were hurt when they were struck by a vehicle when they walking down or trying to cross Payton Gin Road around 6:00 Wednesday evening.

Two unidentified teenage girls were taken by Austin-Travis EMS personnel to University Medical Center Brackenridge where they were being treated for serious injuries.
The investigation into the accident is being handled by the Austin Police Department.
Commentary:
I would be very curious to see if the victims in this accident were in a crosswalk or not, given that the accident is listed in front of a high school, which tends to have ample pedestrian crossing real-estate in the streets out front. If the students were in a marked crosswalk, the driver could be facing some liability, but if the victims had crossed at some other location, there may not be much that can be done. Either way this accident is definitely worth a second look.
