Commentary:
Any time I see a wrong-way driver, that according to witnesses was driving in the opposite lanes for a long distance, I cant help but feel alcohol may be a factor. Although the article does not mention it, if alcohol is found to be a factor, it could potentially reshape the investigation altogether. If alcohol is found to have played a role, determining where that alcohol came from should be the next order of business. This is important because the driver could have been over-served. What constitutes over-service? Any time an already-drunk individual walks into a bar and orders a drink, the server is obligated to deny them service. If they were given a drink anyways, it is considered the negligent provision of alcohol, and could make the bar liable for the accident.
