Commentary
Thankfully, it looks like everyone involved in this accident is going to be okay. Now, looking at the accident itself, if this had been between two pickup trucks, the way forward would look completely different. Because the fire truck belongs to the city, recovering any sort of damages is going to be very tricky, as is typically the case with accidents which involve some sort of municipal entity. Hopefully, as the authorities involved have already found the driver of the fire engine to be at fault, they’ll be able to step in and makes things right. Unfortunately, that’s really all that can be done. For people involved in these sorts of accidents, there just aren’t many options, legally speaking.
