Commentary:
Many states are equipped with liquor liability laws, that hold bars, restaurants, and liquor stores to safe standards. What does this mean? This means that just like a doctor that prescribes medicine, and something goes wrong, the bar can be liable for an accident caused by a drunk driver. Just like a doctor, a bar is licensed to dole out a mind-altering substance, and just as a doctor would be liable if a patient left after a procedure after being given too much medicine, a bar can be held liable for an accident caused by irresponsibly selling and serving alcohol. If this driver had left a bar, or other alcohol serving establishment, the establisment in question could be facing some serious liability related questions.
